My Prophetic Dream

Glad I didn't know for sure...

colourful autumn
On an especially hot night during July 1973. I was sleeping at my Aunt's house and I awoke in a sweat. For a moment, I didn't know where I was but the dream I had just experienced was all too clear...

My first pet was a gray and white long haired kitten that I named Jasper. He was my everything. My mom had allowed me to get him in May and I had really been missing him while visiting my Aunt!

My dream took place on the dead end street where I lived. I was walking along the road...I remember it was a cool day and the trees were in full Fall color.

A disturbance arose and a crowd of neighbors gathered looking into the wooded road's edge.

That is when I realized that it was my Jasper, lying lifeless, that they had gathered around.

I never saw his body...my mind couldn't bear that image. The place and the circumstance were very clear. He had been hit by a vehicle.

Now, covered in sweat and in the dark at my Aunt's house, I felt the pang of nausea that would have accompanied the event...had it really happened?

IT DIDN'T...whew.

I calmed myself and "chalked up" the ugly dream as a manifestation of my loneliness for my "baby'. Still rattled, I was able to fall asleep again.

That October,Friday the thirteenth, my Jasper was hit by a vehicle. Our attempts to save him did not work.

The place on my road was the same from that July dream...need I say more?

The No-Fail Way to Make Me Roll My Eyes

Give me a break...

Just this morning, I wrote a post at my Wordpress Blog about animals in the cinema.

Western movies were always among my favorites BUT did you notice that the horses were bullet proof?

Consider the size of a horse compared to a man.

Really people, wouldn't the horses get shot more often?

I suspect that real "bad guys" would have aimed AT the horses...a much easier target for them while bouncing on their steeds and waving a gun.

PETA wasn't even thought of in "them" days.

It makes me shudder to think about what really may have happened.

My Favorite Comfort Food

Nutty but Nice

Brazil Nuts & Filberts

Um, nuts.

Yup I love nuts!

If I have a can of mixed nuts in the house, I will nibble them all day long.

Protein (notice the i before e thing doesn't apply.), is brain food and my brain is ALWAYS hungry.

Just think of those nut pluses:

1. not messy. (unless you are cracking them...then maybe you have too much time on your hands?)

2.just a couple at a time satisfies.

3.Makes you take care of your teeth. Ya need 'em for nuts.

4.they come from the most remote places...you are employing the world as you snack.

5.it's really easy to make friends with squirrels with nuts in your pocket.

6.you can always use them to create an impromptu "off-color" joke with your male co-workers.

7...and finally, you are what you eat!

Is it nut profiling to single out the Brazil and Filberts first?

Hope not...

Thoughts in the night...

I wonder?

Search For Infinity

There are so many stories to be told.

Sometimes, I wonder,"Has every original idea been done?".

"How is it that we are riding on a sphere traveling through space at a gazillion miles per hour and we remain unaware of this, most of the time?"

We translate our thoughts and dreams with language. "How do babies do it?"

"There is no such thing as infinity because you can always add one to it."

"Is TIME a fluid substance that could be manipulated?"

"If our moon were destroyed, could the Earth survive?"

"Why does our mind allow our vision to be fooled?"

"How come some kids rise above horrid parenting and others are forever lost?"

"Specifically, where am I inside my body?"

...and most importantly, if you eat a piece of cake really quickly, does it have fewer calories?

When things get rough...just punt.

Ah...my first post on blogger and I'm using football terminology.
Life and football are much alike.
One must have goals to reach.
You need blockers...no one gets through it on their own.
Some might say their religion or scruples are the coach.
Hopefully we are not ill often, but when we are,"Time OUT!"
We reap the rewards and take the punishment for our actions..."15 yards for unnecessary roughness!"
Certainly no one can argue against a good offense being the best defense, or maybe the other way around?
We all hope to gain ground throughout life but all of us have fumbled once or twice.

So...I named my blog,"Just Punt"
I am hardly ever serious and quite the procrastinator too.
To me, every day is a new beginning and if you don't like what you see, try again tomorrow.
